Bowling Buddies - Fall Bowling at Spare Time Lanes (Jimmy Deren Memorial Bowling League)

Enjoy a great evening of bowling and meeting new friends.  Get some exercise and have some fun!  This program is geared for Middle School age children through adults.     

Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement, and wear and bring a face mask and hand sanitizer.  We ask everyone to check their temperature before coming to the program and if you have a temperature, over 100 or if you are feeling ill or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend the program.  You should consult your physician or other health care professional before starting this or any other fitness program to determine if it is right for your needs.


Volunteer special partners, coaches and helpers are always needed and also welcome! 
Many fun activities, event nights and zoom activities are held throughout the year in addition to the bowling program! 

Important forms for Special Olympics  Athletes
 
GETTING STARTED
A parent or guardian must complete the following Forms:





  1. Medical Form  (click the link that is in the medical form words to the left)
    This Form must be signed by a licensed medical examiner and is valid for three years. Instructions for filling out Medical Form
    If there are any new changes to medical conditions this must be updated immediately.  




 




  1. Release Form for Minors or Release Form for Adults   (Click the link that says release for adults or minors that is left)
    The Release Form is for minors under the age of 18. The Release Form should be completed for participants 18 years of age and older and does not have an expiration date.




 




  1. All athletes and Special Partners must also fill out the COVID-19 Participant Code of Conduct and Risk Assessment Form  the link is below.

For Special Olympics Unified Partners/Bowling Program Volunteers




  1. Complete and submit the Class A Volunteer Application. (This form must be completed before joining a Special Olympics Connecticut team and is valid for three years.)






 




  1. Complete the Protective Behaviorsonline training. (Only for volunteers ages 18 and over.)  Everyone must renew this year


  2. Read the Unified Sports® Partner Guidelines and complete the Unified Sports® Partner Release Form.
    4. Review information about Partner Domination Issues and Guidelines.

General Information
  • INSTRUCTOR: Donna Carney-Bastrzycki
  • $11.00 Fee includes 3 games & shoe rental and is paid directly to bowling alley (Spare Time Lanes) on the day of the program.
  • Registration deadline is ongoing.
  • All participants must pre-register and fill out a medical/registration waiver prior to beginning bowling and attending events. Please also be sure to fill out the below Special Olympics paperwork and forms for both athletes and Special Partners before the start of the program.
