Suffield Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Suffield Balance Project, invite you and your child to the Let Grow Play Club. This unique summer program offers an unstructured, mixed-age play experience where children are encouraged to guide their own play and resolve conflicts independently. Through this approach, kids build essential social skills, resilience, creativity, and confidence.
The program facilitator is present to ensure child safety and provide first aid if needed but takes a hands-off (“lifeguard only”) role, meaning they do not mediate conflicts or direct play unless absolutely necessary. With limited materials provided, children are inspired to use their imagination and create their own fun.
Children attending Kids Korner/Morning Munchkins Camp may be dismissed directly to Play Club.
Please have children wear comfortable clothing and sneakers that can get dirty. This program runs rain or shine; in the case of rain, please pack rain gear/boots. We will move indoors in the event of thunderstorms or strong winds. Parents should also pack a snack/water for their child for the program. Children attending from the Kids Korner/Morning Munchkins Camp should pack a lunch to have before attending the Play Club.
Please pack a water bottle (required). Small snacks will be available.
Please be sure to indicate if your child has any food allergies or sensitivities at registration.

NOTE: Location is Spaulding School Café A & Bruce Park (center island & pavilion)
Transportation is not provided. Pick-up will be at the Bruce Park Pavilion at 2:30pm
Play Club Pledge
Kid Pledge:
1. I will play respectfully.
2. I will not deliberately hit or physically hurt another child.
3. I understand I need to get permission to leave the area.
4. I agree to listen to the adults. They’ll only get involved when they need to, and then it’s my job to listen.
Parent Pledge:
1. I understand that not all kids will be happy all the time at Play Club.
2. I agree that the adults will not intervene in the children’s disagreements.
3. If my child deliberately hurts someone, they need to take a break.
4. I understand that this is a chance for my child to become more resilient, resourceful, and mature.
