Immerse yourself in nature, connect with your senses on a deeper level, reduce stress and improve well-being with the art of shinrin-yoku. Trees For Suffield and The Suffield Land Conservancy and Suffield Parks & Recreation are co-hosting this unique event. Sign up for a mindful walk through the beautiful woodlands and trails of one of many of the Suffield Land Conservancy’s properties.
The guided walk will be facilitated by Mat Jobin Owner, Outdoor Adventure Guide & Outdoor Gear Specialist from Reach Your Summit. The journey will begin with a meditation designed to connect the senses to the forest and the outdoors. Following the meditation, there will be a short, mindful walk with a series of invitations to explore nature in multiple ways. The session will conclude with a tea ceremony and gentle stretch. All physical abilities are welcome. We will cover a distance of less than a mile on an accessible trail.
The Property trail is relatively flat with little elevation. This gentle Fall wellness walk offers a calming, accessible way to experience the outdoors and designed to help you slow down, notice, and reconnect. No hiking experience required.
The event will take place at one of the Suffield Land Conservancy’s properties - The John and Madeline McClean Outdoor Education Preserve located at 1080 Sheldon St, West Suffield, CT 06093. It is situated directly across from the Suffield High School athletic fields. Attendees are encouraged to park in the main lot and use the crosswalk to access the trails. Look for event signs at the entrance of the Trail.
