Fall Let Grow Play Club (Gr. K-6)
Suffield Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Suffield Balance Project, invite you and your child to the Let Grow Play Club. This unique program offers an unstructured, mixed-age play experience where children are encouraged to guide their own play and resolve conflicts independently. Through this approach, kids build essential social skills, resilience, creativity, and confidence.
The program facilitator is present to ensure child safety and provide first aid if needed but takes a hands-off (“faciliator only”) role, meaning they do not mediate conflicts or direct play unless absolutely necessary. With limited materials provided, children are inspired to use their imagination and create their own fun.
Students attending Spaulding or McAlister can be dismissed directly to Play Club. Transportation is provided for students coming from McAlister.
We aim to be outside whenever possible. Please have children wear comfortable clothing and sneakers that can get dirty. This program runs rain or shine; in the case of rain, please pack rain gear/boots. We will move indoors in the event of thunderstorms, strong winds, or extreme temperatures. As temperatures drop this Fall, please be sure to dress your child accordingly (e.g., coat, hats, gloves…etc.). Parents should also pack an afterschool snack (optional, but recommended) and a water bottle (required). Please be sure to indicate if your child has any food allergies or sensitivities at registration.
Please review the Play Club pledge with your child prior to attending.
