You will have a blast in this ultimate calorie burning high intensity class while you start your Sunday morning off right. Tabata is a form of HIIT (high-intensity interval training) that alternates between twenty seconds of intense bursts of work and ten seconds of rest in four minute rounds. This class will have you burning calories even after you leave class. All fitness levels are welcome.   Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement and wear and bring a face mask, water bottle and a Yoga Mat.  We ask everyone to check their temperature before coming to class and if you have a temperature, over 100 please do not come to class.  Please do not come to class if you are feeling ill or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM    Art-ventures for Kids– Jungles (Gr. K-2) - Art Ventures – Jungles
Head off on a jungle art safari! Art explorers trek through the Rainforest, discovering the wondrous and rare creatures that call it home. Journey into the world of parrots, jungle cats, snakes, red-eyed tree frogs, butterflies and more. Experiment with whimsical and original art forms and techniques. Design metal art reptiles, and create colorful backpacks. Throughout the voyage art adventurers learn about the importance of saving the Rainforest, and pick up super artist survival skills like sculpting with clay, printmaking, painting, collage, and journaling. They even make their own t-shirts using a unique and unusual heat-sealed fabric pastel technique. Surprises and laughter round out this fun-filled art safari.

Is your child ready to have fun while getting in a great workout?  Do they love a good challenge that is motivating?  This heart pumping, enjoyable fitness and games class is for girls and boys in grades 3-8 that is geared for all fitness levels.  Children will engage in core, strength, agility training, plyometrics and other important training exercises. The class’s focus is to motivate with positivity and fun activities in a safe non-judgmental environment helping to make fitness a lifestyle.  Your child will have a blast in this class. Please have your child bring a water bottle, wear sneakers and comfortable clothing to this fun program. NOTE: Pick up will be from the gymnasium door at the back of  the McAlsiter School. If your child is attending the program from the Middle School, they can walk over after school and then check in at the front office at McAlister and proceed to the gym.

Stay in shape for the upcoming holidays with our fun walking program. Are you ready to have some fun, burn some calories and put some spring back in your step and reduce stress before the holidays? Are you tired of trying to fit your daily workout in but have excuses of not being able to exercise because of lack of time and also not wanting to walk/jog alone?Join our group and make new walking/running/jogging friends and get in shape at the same time.We will go over warming up, fitness walking/jogging and have a fun time getting you re-energized for the rest of the day. The program will meet rain or shine so please bring proper gear. Learn billiards with Suffield Senior Center expert Gary Beaudoin. Participants will learn tips and tricks for Eight Ball pool games.  Tuesday, December 6th from 2:30 - 4:00pm. Registration required as space is limited.Youth in grades 6-8th can walk or ride the Parks and Recreation van from Suffield Middle School to the Suffield Youth Center located at 145 Bridge Street.

Inclusive Programming                  These programs foster friendships, socialization, promote community involvement and independence. This group enjoys educational presentations, fitness activities, crafting classes, games and events that are inclusive. There are many fun outings held throughout the year. Programs are geared for Middle School students through adult. Enrollment is on a first come first paid basis.  Volunteers are always welcome. You child will have a fun and festive time while making a variety of quality handmade presents and cards for Winter and the holidays!  What is better than quality, thoughtful handmade gifts?  To put everyone in the holiday spirit, we will listen to holiday songs and have delicious snacks while having a blast!  Please have your child bring or wear an old T-shirt/clothes to class.  A small individualized snack will be provided.  Please indicate if your child has any food allergies. Please note there is no transportation to this program. Children attending from Spaulding School can enter through the McAlister School Cafeteria entrance (blue door with ramp) for pick up and drop off.

Just in time to still get fit and to stay in shape for the holidays!  You will get an incredible workout in this fun high intensity step class. This high energy class is designed to help build lean muscle while burning fat all while having a blast. It is a total body cardio and strength workout. Combining step, HIIT, and dumbbells, this ultimate thirty minute workout will get and help keep you in shape. Come get your heart pumping and the calories burning with a personal trainer. Children will have a terrific time in our new After School Cardio Fitness Program that is designed for children in grades 3-8. Fitness, fun and learning will all be incorporated into this interactive program. Participants will participate in a variety of challenge exercises, team building games, speed and agility skills and drills while getting in some very beneficial cardio exercise. Head off on a jungle art safari! Art explorers trek through the Rainforest, discovering the wondrous and rare creatures that call it home. Journey into the world of parrots, jungle cats, snakes, red-eyed tree frogs, butterflies and more. Experiment with whimsical and original art forms and techniques. Design metal art reptiles, and create colorful backpacks. Throughout the voyage art adventurers learn about the importance of saving the Rainforest, and pick up super artist survival skills like sculpting with clay, printmaking, painting, collage, and journaling. They even make their own t-shirts using a unique and unusual heat-sealed fabric pastel technique. Surprises and laughter round out this fun-filled art safari.

Is your child ready to have fun while getting in a great workout?  Do they love a good challenge that is motivating?  This heart pumping, enjoyable fitness and games class is for girls and boys in grades 3-8 that is geared for all fitness levels.  Children will engage in core, strength, agility training, plyometrics and other important training exercises. The class’s focus is to motivate with positivity and fun activities in a safe non-judgmental environment helping to make fitness a lifestyle.  Your child will have a blast in this class. Please have your child bring a water bottle, wear sneakers and comfortable clothing to this fun program. Children will have a terrific time in our new After School Cardio Fitness Program that is designed for children in grades 3-8. Fitness, fun and learning will all be incorporated into this interactive program. Participants will participate in a variety of challenge exercises, team building games, speed and agility skills and drills while getting in some very beneficial cardio exercise. Pick up will be from the gymnasium door at the back of McAlsiter School. If your child is attending the program from the Middle School, they can walk over after school and then check in at the front office at McAlister and proceed to the gym. Inclusive Programming                  These programs foster friendships, socialization, promote community involvement and independence. This group enjoys educational presentations, fitness activities, crafting classes, games and events that are inclusive. There are many fun outings held throughout the year. Programs are geared for Middle School students through adult. Enrollment is on a first come first paid basis.  Volunteers are always welcome. Get in shape this winter and keep your Fitness Resolutions in 2023!    Let’s enjoy the winter weather, get motivated and go on a lunchtime walk/jog or snowshoe session depending on the weather.  All levels and abilities welcome.  We will go over warming up, fitness walking/snowshoeing and have a fun time getting you re-energized for the rest of the day. The program will run in all weather conditions so please bring proper winter gear.  Even if you can only join the program for a half hour, you are encouraged to join the group.  Prizes will be awarded to the most dedicated walkers.  We ask everyone to check their temperature before coming to class and if you have a temperature, over 100 please do not come to class.  Also, please do not come to class if you are feeling ill or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.  Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement, sneakers and bring a water bottle.

Recreational Pickleball for Adults 25 Years and older. The game of Pickleball combines elements of tennis, ping-pong and badminton. The rules are simple and the game is easy to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game.Participants should have proper footwear/clothing. Equipment will be provided. Face masks are optional.NOTE:  No program on December 27.

Your child will have a wonderful time in this fun and interactive program that will encourage friend making and great exercise in a safe and age appropriate manner. Participants will learn introductory Cheerleading routines and new Cheers if they are returning students. Please have your child wear sneakers and comfortable clothing.Pick up will be from the outside gymnasium entrance at the front of the school.

Practicing of skills will be conducted on weeknights and develop into games accordingly on Saturdays.  Teams will play games against each other and referees will be used. Teams are formed randomly based on siblings, parent coaches and years of playing.  We will try to honor neighborhood carpool requests and cannot guarantee all requests, as making balanced teams is our first priority.Suffield Residents only. GIRLS - Practice Nights:  Wednesdays, November 30 through February 22,  Rotating time slots between 5:00 - 8:30pm.   NOTE: No practice on December 28.GIRLS - Games Days: Saturdays, December 17 through February 25,  Rotating time slots between 8:00 - 11:00am.   NOTE: No games on December 24 & 31.BOYS - Practice Nights:  Thursdays, December 1 through February 23,  Rotating time slots between 5:00 - 8:30pm.NOTE: No practice on December 29.  BOYS - Games Days: Saturdays, December 17 through February 25,  Rotating time slots between 10:00 - 3:00pm.   NOTE: No games on December 24 & 31.Please be aware that there will be no practices or games held during winter vacation.
