Is your child ready to have a great time while getting in a beneficial workout?  Do they love a good challenge that is motivating?  This heart pumping, enjoyable fitness and games class is for children in grades 3-8 that is geared for all fitness levels.  Participants will engage in core, strength, agility training, plyometrics and other important training exercises. The class’s focus is to motivate with positivity and fun.  Your child will have a blast in this class. Please have your child bring a water bottle, wear sneakers and comfortable clothing. A small snack will be provided. Please let Parks and Recreation know if there are any food allergies/dietary restrictions.Pick up will be from the gymnasium door at the back of  the McAlsiter School. Keva Planks are rectangular wooden blocks that are all the same size and shape. If you Google "Keva Planks" there are descriptions and videos of all of the amazing, elaborate and expansive structures children's imaginations can build. We use them in my class during indoor recess and the students are obsessed! They create cities, zoos, tall structures, beehives, racetracks and more. Come join the fun and use your imagination. They will use computer programming and robotics to design and build LEGO® robots as a team, while following the FIRST LEGO® League Challenge curriculum. FIRST LEGO® LEAGUE introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to children through fun, exciting hands on learning. Participants gain real world problem-solving experiences through a guided, robotics program.LEGO® experience is a prerequisite for this program.
