Lacrosse Camp - Premier (Boys Entering Gr. 2-8) - Premier Lacrosse Camp (1/2 Day Option) Premier Lacrosse Camp, in partnership with Connecticut Valley Lacrosse, is for boy field players, and goalies, entering grades 2-8 in the Fall of 2026, whose goal is to enhance the total development of each player through a strict focus on fundamentals, skill development, and a better understanding of game play. This camp will have something for everyone as individual attention, high level instruction, and healthy competition, no matter what the level of play, will be there for all of our campers. Fundamentals to include throwing, catching, shooting, and ground balls. Athletic development work to include dynamic stretching, static stretching, strength work, and running. Game like situations to include even-man situations, odd-man situations, 6v6 scrimmage, 10 v 10 scrimmage, fast break, ride/ clear, face-off, and small area games. Specialized instruction to include the specifics of playing attack, mid-field, defense, face-offs and goalie.In addition, we will have a specialized curriculum and space dedicated to those campers entering high school. With this, our goal is to give our campers, whom will be entering the 9th grade, the tools necessary to prepare them for the game at the high school level.Coach Kossbiel will be joined by a staff that will include other local lacrosse coaches.What to Bring: Full lacrosse equipment, water bottle, cleats, gym shoes, and a light snack.There is a very limited supply of smaller equipment for those younger players who have not played in the past. Kid's Korner/Morning Munchkins Camp (Age 3 yrs.& 4 yrs. Entering Gr. 2) - KID'S KORNER Camp - Ages 4 yrs.- Entering GR. 2 - SESSION 3 Your child will have non-stop fun this Summer in the Kid’s Korner/Morning Munchkins interactive and educational camp that consist of two week thematic units culminating with a big event day at the end of the session. NOTE: No camp on Monday, June 22 due to Staff training and camp location set-up.No Camp on Friday, July 3. Important Information: SESSION 1, WEEK 1 ONLYSchedule remains tentative due to Winter storm school closings and possible additional weather-related school closings could further affect the start date of camp. The Kid’s Korner/Morning Munchkins Camp is an enriching program for children who have reached their 3rd birthday by the start of the session enrolled in (proof of age required, and must be toilet trained) through those entering 2nd grade. The youngest group of campers is called, Morning Munchkins. Children are placed in groups according to proximity of age. Campers will enjoy a variety of activities including: arts and crafts, educational themes, parachute play, painting, water days, outdoor and indoor creative play, games, story time, scavenger hunts and family friendly event days in this fun and inclusive camp. For a special treat popsicles are served every water day and special snacks are enjoyed on event days including ice cream. There is a new theme each session to keep your child/ren captivated all Summer long. During each session, campers will put on an interactive event day to cap off the session that parents and caregivers are invited too. Delicious snacks will be served at the event day and much fun is had. Summer Let Grow Play Club (Gr. K–5) - Summer Let Grow Play Club Suffield Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Suffield Balance Project, invite you and your child to the Let Grow Play Club. This unique summer program offers an unstructured, mixed-age play experience where children are encouraged to guide their own play and resolve conflicts independently. Through this approach, kids build essential social skills, resilience, creativity, and confidence.The program facilitator is present to ensure child safety and provide first aid if needed but takes a hands-off (“lifeguard only”) role, meaning they do not mediate conflicts or direct play unless absolutely necessary. With limited materials provided, children are inspired to use their imagination and create their own fun.Children attending Kids Korner/Morning Munchkins Camp may be dismissed directly to Play Club. Please have children wear comfortable clothing and sneakers that can get dirty. This program runs rain or shine; in the case of rain, please pack rain gear/boots. We will move indoors in the event of thunderstorms or strong winds. Parents should also pack a snack/water for their child for the program. Lacrosse Camp - Premier (Boys Entering Gr. 2-8) - Premier Lacrosse Camp (1/2 Day Option) Premier Lacrosse Camp, in partnership with Connecticut Valley Lacrosse, is for boy field players, and goalies, entering grades 2-8 in the Fall of 2026, whose goal is to enhance the total development of each player through a strict focus on fundamentals, skill development, and a better understanding of game play. This camp will have something for everyone as individual attention, high level instruction, and healthy competition, no matter what the level of play, will be there for all of our campers. Fundamentals to include throwing, catching, shooting, and ground balls. Athletic development work to include dynamic stretching, static stretching, strength work, and running. Game like situations to include even-man situations, odd-man situations, 6v6 scrimmage, 10 v 10 scrimmage, fast break, ride/ clear, face-off, and small area games. Specialized instruction to include the specifics of playing attack, mid-field, defense, face-offs and goalie.In addition, we will have a specialized curriculum and space dedicated to those campers entering high school. Yes, running can be fun. All levels of runners are welcome (beginners through advanced). This program is the perfect way to train for the upcoming Suffield Parks and Recreation 5K Run/Walk and 10K Road Race and Kids Fun Run to be held on Saturday, September 12 and for other local races. This running and walking group will also get you in overall great shape and help you make new fitness friends. Each session will start with a warm up, followed by the workout and ending with a cool down and stretches. The running workouts will be based on the levels of the runners. The participants will be coached during the session as well as given tools to continue the training on their own. This camp will have something for everyone as individual attention, high level instruction, and healthy competition, no matter what the level of play, will be there for all of our campers. Summer Field Hockey - The Training Lab: Field Hockey Skill Academy - Player Registration - Thursday, August 20 ONLY The Training Lab: Field Hockey Skill AcademyThis 6-part skill development clinic is designed to help players improve the technical execution, understanding, and application of essential field hockey skills in a structured and engaging environment.Each 2-hour session will focus on five core areas of the game:
Elimination skills
Defensive skills
Releasing skills
Receiving skills
Goal-scoring skills
Players will learn the key technical details behind each skill, including body positioning, grip management, footwork, timing, and decision-making, while participating in high-quality repetitions and game-like activities designed to build confidence and execution during play.In addition to player development, this clinic also provides a unique coach education opportunity. Coaches will learn how to effectively teach and deliver technical skills, identify common technical errors, provide meaningful corrections, and manage skill progression during training sessions. Coaches will also have opportunities to practice skill delivery and coaching feedback with players throughout each session.By the end of the program, both players and coaches will leave with a stronger technical foundation, improved understanding of skill development, and practical tools to support long-term success in the sport.
